Kettering Health & The Cincinnati Bengals: Be Your Best

Kettering Health has been a valued partner of ours for over a decade, and in 2022, they became the official healthcare provider for the Cincinnati Bengals. A central focus of this partnership is encouraging the community to prioritize their health and to "Be Your Best." This year’s campaign centers around empowering individuals to take charge of their well-being by promoting proactive healthcare. We were thrilled to work with Bengals starting center Ted Karras, who is recognized as a great team player and community advocate, which made him the perfect fit to inspire fans to prioritize their health and reach their best.

What We Did

Strategy, Messaging, Video, Writing, Photography, Concepting

Ted Karras was the perfect person for this year’s campaign. His positive, down-to-earth personality brought an authentic and relatable touch to the project. Known for his leadership both on and off the field, Ted fully believes in the importance of this partnership and despite his busy practice schedule, Ted was generous enough to spend his off day with us. For this year’s campaign, we focused on highlighting Ted in his own environment at Paycor Stadium, capturing what it truly means for him to “be his best.”

We filmed him during practice, working out in the training facility, and standing center stage on the field. These scenes offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the daily routine that helps Ted stay at the top of his game, reinforcing the campaign’s central message. By showcasing his dedication to physical and mental well-being, we drew a parallel to the importance of everyone taking steps toward their best health. Through these authentic moments, the campaign resonates with fans and emphasizes how making proactive health choices can help them be their best too.

We made sure to convey a sense of authenticity and emotional connection by filming at Kettering Health locations and by featuring actual Kettering Health doctors and staff memebers. This decision allowed us to highlight the genuine care and commitment that goes into helping people be their best, echoing the campaign’s slogan.

From moments with a new family welcoming their baby to a patient’s journey toward recovery, these scenes capture the essence of Kettering Health’s mission. By using real healthcare professionals in their authentic settings, we were able to add depth and emotion, ensuring that viewers feel the sincerity of the message – that their best health is within reach, and it’s something worth striving for.

The Preparation

Given the tight schedule we faced, we pre-lit and mapped out most of our scenes at Paycor the day before filming with Ted. We had about four hours across three different locations within the stadium. Utilizing our hand-drawn schematics and final setup plans allowed us to work efficiently, keeping track of our gear at each site and facilitating quicker transitions between setups. A special shout-out to our incredible photographer, Cameron Braun, who not only captured some fantastic behind-the-scenes moments but also took amazing shots of Ted Karras. He truly has incredible talent!
