At Boom Crate, we are passionate about meaningful work, and our continued collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club holds a special place in our hearts. This remarkable organization creates life-changing opportunities for kids by providing a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where their dreams can thrive. Each year, the club hosts SPARK, a special event aimed at raising funds to enhance the resources available to its members. This year, we had the honor of not only telling the story of James, a young leader with a passion for becoming a chef, but also rebranding the event — helping to elevate the SPARK event and its purpose.

This year’s video focused on James’ journey, highlighting a meaningful one-on-one experience where Chef Marcus of Side Piece Soul Cafe mentored him on his path to becoming a chef. Capturing these moments helped remind donors of the importance of their contributions in empowering young people like James to pursue their dreams.

In addition to the video, our team worked closely with the Boys & Girls Club to refresh the SPARK event logo, ensuring it aligned with the energy, inspiration, and vision behind the event. The new branding reflects the club’s forward-thinking mission and reinforces the powerful connection between the event and its impact on the community.

By supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton, our community’s generosity directly impacts programs designed to inspire and empower the next generation. Kids gain access to STEAM education, health and well-being, good character and leadership development, workforce readiness, and experiences that help them discover new passions — like James’ journey to becoming a chef.

At the event, the community donated more than $400,000 to support the programs at Boys and Girls Club of Dayton.
